GLMStat is a Macintosh-based statistical program for analysing generalized linear models. It provides a macintosh interface using menus and dialogs rather than a command-line interface. Features of GLMStat are
- spreadsheet style data entry
- Normal, Poisson, Binomial and Gamma models with appropriate links and specification of convergence and aliasing parameters
- Scatter and Residual plots
- Matrix scatterplots
- Box and Whisker plots
- Frequency distribution histograms
- Descriptive statistics
- Output of deviance, parameter estimates, residuals and parameter correlations
- Saving of data files complete with all model specifications.
- printing of data, graph and results.
- Allows missing values
- Online Help (under the apple menu) and a brief User Manual.
- includes example data files for most examples in two of the texts.
- Individual licences available for $US25. Site licence $US200. World site licence $US500. Payment in $US through Kagi Shareware.
- Upgrades to versions 5.x and 6.x are free.
Changes in version 6.0.0
- storage of data columns and results in double precision rather than single precision
- added step halving to fitting algorithm to improve convergence (really only needed for the double precision)
- Creation of Matrix graphs using a tabbed dialog (as with other graphs)
- Improved specification of Lowess parameter
- Mac OS X version look and feel is closer to what Apple requires
- requires Appearance manager (this means that you will probably need at least 8.1)
- Correlation Statistics command gives Pearson correlations
- added 95% confidence intervals to estimates
- fixed problem with open file errors not being meaningful
Unregistered copies are fully functional except that Save, Save As, Copy and Print are disabled.
Online registration
You can register online using credit cards with Kagi. This allows registration for individual, site and world licences.
Registration codes are automatically generated and e-mailed to you.
Important:
- Your billing address must be the same as shown on your credit card statement. Make sure that you have the additional 3 number code from the back of your credit card. Kagi uses these to reduce fraud and it is unlikely your transaction will proceed without them.
- For customers in European Union countries VAT is added onto the purchase price. The order page allows for exemptions.

Downloads
At times some of these links may be invalid. If you are a registered user you may e-mail me and
I will send you a copy of the current version. For registered users I send out e-mail notifications when the mirror sites are all working.
Mac OS X
Requires at least MacOS X 10.1 or later.
Download GLMStat X 6.0.0 (0.9M)
Mac OS
Download GLMStat 6.0.0 (PPC 0.9M)
Examples
Download GLMStat Examples (1.6M)
No beta versions currently available.
Version 6.1 (probably early 2006)
- improved Test command which allows for other tests to be performed
- Contingency table command for Statistics
What I hope to look at next
- Variance Inflation Factor (VIF) with estimates
- normal curve plotted on frequency distribution plots
I am also thinking about (for 6.x or maybe later)
- confidence intervals from profile likelihoods
- ability to use other parameterisations other than corner-point
- kernel smoothing of frequency distribution plots
- Confidence ellipses for scatter plots
- Box-Cox transformations, probably display a single variable as a freq dist histogram which dynamically changes as the Box-Cox parameter changes
- more applescript to get and set data
- more options for specifying graph axis
- Display of subset information to transcript and report.
Review GLMStat
Versiontracker has an option to review programs. You can review either
